The Igapó Study Project
Jaú National Park is in the Brazilian Amazon, providing protection to a substantial amount of flooded forest known as igapó. A marvelous constellation of organisms calls this remarkable habitat home. An exemplar in progressive conservation, the Jaú National Park is jointly administered by the Brazilian governmental agency IBAMA and the non-governmental Fundaçao Vítoria Amazônica.
